Soul Inside My Own
At 12:31 a.m. on 2005-08-04

To my Love, John

The touch of your skin on mine
Your arms around my back
Holding me tight
Protecting me from the world
All its chaos and irresponsibilities
I only feel at home in those arms
Lost in those eyes that know mine so well
I only feel at home reflected in those orbs
A mind so radiant, but you don't let it show through
Hearing from the libraries of thought that emulate mine
Makes me feel devoted to being yours forever
It may sound absurb
But those words "I love you"
Don't even summarize how much I truly do
Adore, yearn for, burn, desire, worship
My love, my beloved, my soul inside my own

Jaded Poet, Lonely in Company
. . . and a pen rests by the chalice, pull up a chair by this, the fire, drink long, the ink and wine are able, the script leaps from hand, into the pyre,
. . . yes, the bottle is half full, pull the cork and pour another, hide your eyes deep in the swallow, and we'll burn this script together,
. . . damn the feather, pour the ink, and let the ruin stain those lips, I beg and hope to share this hour, but those hands of yours, will never leave your hips.
