Radiant Enigma
At 12:59 a.m. on 2001-11-24

Just me stating what I think I am

I am what I am & I say what I say,

Doesn't matter what you think, save that for another day,

I am a radiant enigma; I am who I'll be,

I'm my own person, now set me free.

I'm free to make my own decisions,

Free to make my own revisions,

Free to live my life & be as I wish.

I'm a good person, & I try as I may,

Maybe you think I'm not, like you say,

But don't judge me before you truly know,

You don't understand the seeds that I sow.

You just really can't see through,

You don't know me, don't pretend that you do.

I'm not always what I seem, I'm not always what I appear,

I'm much more complicated that you fear,

I'm an enigma; I'm a paradox,

I'm a box with few keys & no locks.

So learn more about me before you judge,

Listen to my words, hear out my grudge,

Because I am what I say, but I'm not always what I appear.

Jaded Poet, Lonely in Company
. . . and a pen rests by the chalice, pull up a chair by this, the fire, drink long, the ink and wine are able, the script leaps from hand, into the pyre,
. . . yes, the bottle is half full, pull the cork and pour another, hide your eyes deep in the swallow, and we'll burn this script together,
. . . damn the feather, pour the ink, and let the ruin stain those lips, I beg and hope to share this hour, but those hands of yours, will never leave your hips.
